Important clarification
Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression – Media and Freedoms Unit – Journalist’s House Program:
We learned that some people contacted some media professionals and activists inside Syria claiming to be working with the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression with the Journalists’ House program, specifically the support department, in order to obtain information about the work of colleagues, their personal data and data about the center.
The center affirms that this is an offense of impersonation, a crime that is prosecuted before the law. This declaration is a notice to anyone who has carried out this offense and specifically a person named Amjad who claims to be a staff of the Center within the Studies department. Amjad communicates with people via the following phone number: (0031687656409). The Center is currently working to locate Amjad to follow up on the necessary judicial procedures.
Accordingly, the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression confirms that:
First: Communicating with the Center regarding support requests is done exclusively via the following support email: [email protected]
Second: By filling in the application form for requesting support, in case the criteria on the center’s page are met.
https://scm.bz/protection-support
Third: Any communication outside of the above, the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression is not responsible for.
Journalists’ House Program:
The Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression has been supporting journalists since its establishment in 2004 by providing:
1- Legal support.
2 – living support.
3- Access to medical support.
4 – Access to a safe place.
To verify the fact that anyone claims to be part of this program and for more information, please contact Yara Badr, Director of Media and Freedoms unit at the Center.
