Fiction and nonfiction writers, journalists, freelance critics or curators, artists and academics can apply for a writing residency in Alberta, Canada.
The Banff Centre is organizing its literary journalism residency July 2 to 30 at its Leighton Artists’ Colony studios.
The program enables writers to work on their essay, memoir or feature piece, receive individual consultations with faculty and participate in roundtable discussions.
Eight fellows will be selected on the basis of writing skills, literary merit and the relevance and originality of their project idea.
The program fee is CAD4,196.96 (US$3,179.15). Full tuition scholarships are available, in addition to a CAD2,000 (US$1,514) commission award for work produced and a travel allowance of up to CAD750 (US$568).
The deadline to apply is March 1.
