Job title: Project Manager – Paris

Program/ Project/ Department: EU Project

Positions available: 1 vacancy.

Duration of the contract: 12 months (interspersed with a 3-month trial period).

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Planning/Ensure that a forward and proactive approach to project management is adopted and detailed project implementation plans are in place, understood by team members, and effectively implemented as scheduled.
  • Implementation/Lead on the successful implementation of all EU project deliverables, develop and manage an implementation timetable for the project, working with the Project Coordinator to ensure delivery of project targets to a high quality and within the contracted timeframe and budget, and in full adherence to the contractual requirements and constraints.
  • Follow up & Control/Continuously track the project progress against its preset objectives and ensure the appropriate completion of tasks and activities as per project work plans.
  • Reporting/With support from M&E/Accountability Officer and the Project Coordinator, ensure quality reporting of project activities and achievements and document best practices and lessons learned in the course of implementation.
  • Monitoring/the project outputs in correlation with the preset indication mechanisms and reporting the monitored findings to the relevant team members. In addition to facilitating the coordination with the MEAL team members in order to execute the monitoring and evaluation plans and the relevant exercises.
  • Budget Holding/Hold the relevant components of the project budget and act as the main focal point in managing the expenditure in relation to the project action plans and objectives, as well as design and duly introduce potential recommendations to the financial plan.
  • Context/Progressively lead on reading and observing the relevant contextual abstracts and developments and provide the project team members – as well as the SCM management team – with the relevant updates, in addition to designing and suggesting suitable recommendations where and when applicable.
  • Communication/Ensure that participant victim groups, families, SCM management, and donor(s) are adequately informed and included in all relevant project and context developments.
  • Evaluation/Lead on designing the third-party evaluation as well as collaborate with the external evaluator providing the necessary input and evidence.
  • Procurement/Lead, in coordination with the Project Coordinator, on providing the procurement team with timely and detailed procurement plans rhyming. 

Requirement, Skills, and Experience:

  • Fluent Arabic and English speaker, sufficient French and/or any other European language is desirable;
  • Studied program/project management or area of study to support knowledge in program/management;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with human rights/humanitarian assistance/projects with at least 2 years of project experience;
  • Desirable / Priority will be given to candidates experience in managing civil society -led and organizations;
  • Strong writing skills and ability to write quality reports, updates and success stories;
  • Proven project management skills, including activity and data management;
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills, approach to problem solving;
  • Experience of liaising with donors, partners international bodies such as the EU and the UN;
  • Previous experience managing and/or implementing funded projects;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements;
  • Commitment to beneficiary accountability humanitarian/human rights ethics.
