Journalists and others from the Arab world who are active in volunteering and humanitarian work are invited to submit their entries.
The Arab Hope Makers contest was announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai.
Contestants should have produced at least one community initiative in volunteer or humanitarian work. The work must be inspirational and have a positive impact on the fields of volunteerism, education, health, media and social activism.
The first place winner will receive AED1,000,000 (US$272,286.67) to support his or her initiative. Second place to fifth place runners-up will be honored by Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives.
Nominatons and self-nominations will be accepted. The deadline is April 3.
