Vacancy details:
Job title: Advocacy Officer
Program/ Project/ Department: Policies, Advocacy and Communication
Positions available: 1 vacancy.
Duration of the contract: 9 months (including a 3-month probation period).

Work Station: Paris office or remotely.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the policies, advocacy and communication team and SCM’s managment to develop and implement effective advocacy strategies, policies and tools at SCM.
- Follow-up and monitor updates of international events (United Nations, European Union, etc.) regarding SCM activities periodically, and share updates with the policy, advocacy and communication team.
- Contribute to the preparation and implementation of advocacy events and activities and events in cooperation with the policy, advocacy and communication team, SCM projects, and international and Syrian civil society organizations.
- Cooperate with the logistic department and ensure the follow-up of the logistics of activities (travel cards, hotel reservations, room reservations).
- Following up on the latest developments in Syria and the events and reports issued by local and international institutions and organizations.
- Maintain SCM’s international days calender and updating when necessary.
- Prepare reports and tools to develop advocacy activities and support the overall work of the department.
- Perform any other task assigned by the line manager.
Requirement, Skills, and Experience:
- University degree in social sciences, humanities, journalism, law, or related studies.
- Experience of at least 1 year in a similar position.
- Experience and in-depth knowledge of the Syrian affairs and the actors in it.
- Experience and knowledge in the field of human rights and work with civil society organizations.
- Excellent communication in Arabic and English (reading and writing), French is a valuable plus.
- Very good knowledge of using Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
- High communication and organization skills.
- Enjoy teamwork.
- The ability to take initiative and make decisions.
