The French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian, and his German counterpart, Heiko Maas, announced the 15 winners of the award yesterday. The prize is awarded every year to individuals who have made an “exceptional contribution to the protection and promotion of human rights and the rule of law in their country and at the international level.”

This prize is an honour to the Syrian movement for justice and accountability as it reaffirms the importance of contributions that have been made by Al Bunni in combating impunity and consolidating human rights and the rule of law at the international level.
