Damascus Criminal Court to release the Syrian human rights activist Kamal Sheikho
Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Known that the Second Criminal Court in Damascus, Sunday, 03/13/2011 today approved the request for the evacuation of Syrian human rights activist Kamal Shehu made by lawyer Khalil Matouk, the court decided to release him on bail material of 500 Syrian pounds should be tried at large.
It is worth mentioning that the human rights activist Kamal Shehu was born in 1978, had entered into a hunger strike on 16.02.2011 and entered after the strike in the water calling for his release or trial is free if he has committed any offense punishable by Syrian law, and the devices Syrian security forces arrested Shehu on 23 6 2010 and tried before the Second Criminal Court in Damascus on charges of "spreading false news that weaken the morale of the nation" and set the next hearing of his trial on Monday.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights when it congratulates the human rights activist Kamal Sheikho his release, demanding the immediate and unconditional release of all prisoners of conscience in Syrian prisons, and reiterates the observatory upon the Syrian authorities to stop pursuing a policy of arbitrary detention against political opponents and civil society activists and human rights.
