NewsU presents webinar on self-editing [Worldwide]

Editors and reporters who want to improve their self-editing skills can attend this online seminar.

Poynter’s News University, in partnership with ACES: The Society of Editing, will offer the webinar “9 ways to edit yourself (or anyone else)” at 2:00 p.m. EDT on Oct. 18.

Participants will learn simple tips for basic editing. Topics include: why editing matters in the digital age; what audiences notice when they review your content; how to tackle content in a systematic way; and how to edit both for mechanics and clarity.

The one-hour course will be led by Laura M. Browning, executive editor for The A.V. Club.

Registration is ongoing and costs US$29.95.  ACES members pay US$11.95. Access to an archived version of the webinar and bonus materials is included in the registration fee.
