Traineeship: Grant-Making Support (Arabic Skills Required)

Background

The European Endowment for Democracy (EED) is a grant giving organisation that was created to foster and encourage democratisation and deep and sustainable democracy in countries in political transition and in societies struggling for democratisation. It is an independent private law foundation with its seat in Brussels. Its geographic mandate covers the European neighbourhood and beyond.

Traineeships

The EED is launching a call for trainees. During their time at EED, the trainees will assist EED Secretariat staff with technical assistance and operational support.

In particular, EED is looking for trainees with the following the specific expertise for a six-month traineeship starting around November 2017:

  1.       Grant–making Support (Arabic skills required) – Assistance is required to the EED grant-making contractual, financial and administrative process. Knowledge of grant-making cycle and experience in administrative work and detailed assessment of financial reports strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel necessary. High drive for detail and accuracy. Arabic language skills required.

Citizenship of an EU Member State or residency in the European Union is a requirement.

Terms and Salary

Preferred contractual relations with the trainees is a Convention d’immersion professionnelle (a professional immersion agreement under Belgian Law). Expected level of monthly remuneration around €1,400 net per month.
