Journalist’s House Manager

Tasks:

 

  • Supervising the effective management of the Journalist’s House programme to ensure the provision of resources and implementation of the plans and activities of the programme;
  • Undertake strategic planning tasks, progress reports, develop program plans, and monitor and evaluate the programme;
  • Carry out the tasks of developing project proposals and grant progress documents for the programme;
  • Manage the press house team and supervise the organization of tasks and division of labor;
  • Identify program donors and discuss support opportunities in collaboration with the line manager;
  • Monitor projects implementation and coordinate with donors and programme team to ensure project implementation in line with binding laws and procedures in accordance with signed contracts;
  • Prepare narrative reports on grants, ensure completion of activities and reporting within agreed timeframes, and coordinate with the Finance Department regarding relevant financial reports;
  • Building team capacity and providing assistance in developing management skills required to implement programme plans and activities;
  • Build and develop relationships with stakeholders at a high level;
  • Adherence to professional standards as set forth in protocols, rules and regulations;
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety procedures, rules and regulations.

 

Skills

  • Fluent in verbal and written Arabic and English
  • Proven experience as program manager or relevant position
  • Knowledge of program management and development procedures
  • Knowledge of budgeting, bookkeeping and reporting
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to work with diversity and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented and efficient
  • Be very familiar with changes, players, influential in the Syrian situation on the local and national level, with particular attention to the local media and human rights work environments;
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders at a senior level;
  • Ability to manage different team in person and from distance and follow up work under pressure.
