ICFJ launches training through IJNet Arabic [MENA]

Journalists across the Middle East and North Africa can participate in this multi-phase program.

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) in partnership with the Google News Initiative, offers a new program through IJNet Arabic.

The program will identify and nurture a core group of nine Digital Media Ambassadors in the region who will offer training on Google and other tools, and equip 4,000 journalists with the latest digital tools and resources.

In the first phase, participants must attend a digital journalism webinar to be led by expert ICFJ mentors and a Google trainer the week of April 30. In the second phase, the most promising journalists from the webinar will be invited to participate in a two-day workshop led by Google in Dubai, where they will gain the skills needed to become Digital Media Ambassadors.

In the last phase, the Digital Media Ambassadors will lead workshops and newsroom trainings in their home countries with continued coaching from expert mentors
