“Transitional justice in Syria – Practical Solutions”

The handbook focuses on laying the foundations for a transitional justice mechanism that contributes to establishing the truth and accountability for past or current grave violations of human rights in Syria.

The handbook has been created based on the transitional justice forum sessions that included stakeholders, who provided insights and examples from around the world to raise participants’ awareness and reveal current pathways to justice. Dialogues were also opened through which to advance the efforts of Syrian civil society actors towards achieving meaningful transitional justice and creating space for civil society organizations to develop their capabilities and increase their capabilities concerning transitional justice.

The Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression extends its thanks to:

  • Principal researcher, Legal Specialist Ayman Huda Monem – Ph.D. in Constitutional Law.
  • Ladies and gentlemen, speakers, and contributions to the forum sessions and the development of the handbook from the victims’ associations, the Constitutional Committee, human rights organizations, civil society organizations, and individuals
  • In addition to the colleagues working on the handbook at the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung.
