Special report on the 56th session of the UN Human Rights Council and the activities of the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression (SCM)

The activities and events of the 56th session of the Human Rights Council were launched from 18 June to 12 July 2024. During this session, the Council discussed a range of civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights.The Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression (SCM) organized a webinar on the sidelines of the session to launch the second edition of the report “Shadow Armies” on the use of mercenaries during the conflict in Syria. Additionally, it prepared and delivered seven oral interventions independently and in collaboration with several victim associations, groups, and Syrian civil society organizations. Six of these interventions were submitted under Item 3, and one under Item 4.
