Canon and Images Evidence, with the support of Elle Magazine, present the Canon Female Photojournalist Award, recognizing a female photojournalist who wishes to cover a social, economic, political or cultural subject in a journalistic manner.

Contestants are judged on both previous work and plans for a future project.

The winner will attend the Perpignan Festival in France and receive EUR8,000 (US$8,527) for her planned report.

The deadline is May 17.
