Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression (SCM) is an independent non-governmental, non-profit organization. Within the framework of the work of the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression (SCM) in building a society based on respecting and protecting the right to free expression of opinion, and supporting media work and upgrading its, the media and freedom program in the SCM plans to conduct a training to enhance the journalist’s capabilities in the field of
“Digital Security and Data Security”
Therefore, SCM is seeking a trainer to prepare and implement virtual (online) training for 30 female journalists (two training groups) by the attached terms of reference.

Purchase of services (Trainer)
1. Training Title:
“Digital and Data Security, and Defending Against Online Harassment”
2. General Objective:
To strengthen the capacities of women journalists in the fields of digital security, data protection, and combating online harassment.
3. The Detailed Objectives:
- To introduce the concepts of digital security and data protection.
- To provide tools and means that promote safe digital practices tailored to journalistic work.
- To enhance the capacities of women journalists in digital security and data protection.
- To strengthen the ability of women journalists to combat online harassment.
- To raise awareness of the types of cyber threats targeting female journalists, especially in security-sensitive contexts.
- To build participants’ capacities in using secure networks, encrypted applications, and personal data management strategies.
- To create a participatory space for sharing practical experiences and exchanging knowledge on digital protection mechanisms and responses to threats.
4. Target Group:
- Women journalists from various types of media (visual, audio, and written).
- From different regions across Syria and neighboring countries.
- The priority will be given to participants who have been subjected to digital attacks, electronic threats, or gender-based violations.
5. Qualifications and skills required:
- A university degree at least, preferably in a relevant field (preferably in digital security, or any related field)
- Demonstrated experience in delivering similar training (minimum of three years).
- Proven technical expertise in using digital security tools and applications to meet media needs and digital security requirements, such as encryption, identity management tools, passwords, privacy, tracking avoidance, and privacy settings on social media platforms.
- Ability to identify vulnerabilities and address them.
- Specialization in digital security and data protection.
- Ability to provide practical, hands-on applications.
- Excellent training skills (developing training materials, effective communication, feedback, evaluation, and reporting)
