Role and Responsibilities
- Leads the Development Department and manages Partnerships, Quality Assurance, Programs managers and the Advocacy sub department.
- Oversees quality assurance and compliance function, supporting the manager on the escalation of major issues to Operations
- Secures funding for the organization by submitting grant proposals to international grant-making organization, partners and donors.
- Supervises technical program managers, validating the suitability and feasibility of the programs and the approaches.
- Oversees the development of new project ideas for new or existing programs.
- Manages end-to-end donor relationships, from guiding the partnerships team on the proposal development to signing-off the reports for strategic donors
- Organizes and oversees the kick-off meetings, in which new programs/projects are handed out from the development department to the operations department.
- Updates and enforces policies / procedures related to Development
- Provides guidance and assistance to direct reports in resolution of important operational issues
- Maintains regular communication with direct reports
- Member of the Core Team, ensures all members are aware of major development-related topics as well as attends and participates in all Core Team meetings
- Together with COO, negotiates contracts with donors and sends contract to CEO (if >$75,000), Country Director (<$50,000) or signs by him/herself (if $50-75,000)
- Advises CEO on strategic decisions for Basmeh and Zeitooneh
Skills:
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with adequate computer and research skills
- Must have strong leadership skills
- Diplomatic, with strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills
- Successful in leading teams, and motivating them
- Must be Fluent in Arabic and English
- Must have personal qualities such as a strong commitment to integrity, respect for diversity, and the ability to inspire others
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Relations, International Development, Economics or any other related discipline
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in management within the nonprofit sector
- Thorough understanding of humanitarian issues, strategies and of non-governmental organizations
Experience required: 3 to 5 years
Education degree: Bachelor Degree Field of education: Business Administration, International Relations, International Development, Economics or any other related discipline.
