Call for Volunteers for the Litigation Programme at the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression

The SCM currently focuses on human rights violations documentation, litigation for victims, and support for civil society and Syrian media/journalists. Our team members are based in Syria and neighboring countries, as well as Europe and the Americas, and our headquarters are in Paris, France.

The Litigation Programme is an integral component of SCM. At the core of the programme is the conviction that perpetrators of grave violations must be held accountable in order to build a genuine transitional justice process in Syria.

SCM’s Litigation Programme is recruiting volunteers to work an average of 8 hours per week and for 6 months.

Skills and Experience

  • Desire to volunteer in the human rights sector
  • Knowledge of Syrian law, human rights and international law
  • Availability for 8 hours a week from 1 April to 31 September 2019
  • Good knowledge of Syria
  • Good computer and social media skills
  • Fluency in Arabic and a working knowledge of English.
