Council discussions for this session included a range of civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights, with a special focus on violence and discrimination against women and freedom of expression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The periodic resolution on the situation of human rights in Syria was adopted and issued on July 13 under the number <a href=\"https:\/\/undocs.org\/Home\/Mobile?FinalSymbol=A%2FHRC%2FRES%2F53%2F18&amp;Language=E&amp;DeviceType=Desktop&amp;LangRequested=False\">A\/HRC\/RES\/53\/18<\/a>, demanding the Syrian Government to meets its responsibility to respect and protect the human rights of all persons within its jurisdiction in a manner consistent with the applicable international law obligations.
