Washington internship program for journalism students accepting applications

International journalism students can apply for a semester internship in Washington, D.C.

The Scripps Howard Foundation Semester in Washington, sponsored by ICFJ, brings two international students to work at the Scripps Howard News Service for a semester. The semester runs from September to December, 2011.

The internship is designed to give the students an opportunity to cover events in the US capital, as well as report and write feature stories that may be published in newspapers across the US. One of last year’s interns, Shiraz Mukarram of Pakistan, reported from inside the White House.

The internship is open to undergraduate journalism or communication students who intend to pursue careers in journalism after graduation. Applicants must be fluent in English.
